Titanium has the properties of hard metal such as stainless steel and light metal such as aluminium. But it is difficult to get the mirror surface with high shape accuracy, because that the thermal conductivity of titanium is inferior to other metals. Especially, it is impossible to get wide-area mirror surface by using the ordinary working method such as cutting or grinding.
The authors succeed to get the mirror surface by means of the electrolytic-abrasive combined machining. In this paper, the authors describe both of the electrolytic and working characteristics in aqueous solution of NaNO3 or NaCl and analytical experiments of combined working mechanism.
