Abstract

1. Of 400 children examined, none was an exclusive meat-eater or an exclusive vegetable-eater.
2. Statistically speaking, children like eggs best, followed by meat, mussel, fish, milk, and lastly vegetables in the order of preference. Among vegetables lotus “roots” and cabbages are liked best while radish, carrot, and onion are disliked. Vegetable dishes in the form of “tempura” or soft-frying are preferred to boiled and sauced vegetables.
3. Trend of food discrimination is more marked in girls than tn boys, in confirmalion of the author's first report.
4. Dependence of food habit on the type of versive disposition of personality is not definitely shown, although ambigual types appears less inclined to food discrimination.
5. Various environmental factors undoubtedly contribute to shaping of personality on one side, and to food habit on the other. It will be then too rash and unreasonable to assume one as the result or cause of the othe
