家庭の火傷事故4例の考察

抄録

1. Four cases of burn accident were studied, especially from a standpoint of etiological analysis. 2. Four kinds of etiological factors, as formulated by the senior author (K .H.) in a previous paper were pointed out in each case of burn in the home : (1) direct cause, (2) direct motive, (3) uncontrolable condtions, (4) controlable conditions. 3. This study revealed many weak points in home management in an average Japanese home, especially in the child-care and management of high temperature objects. Health education ought to take up such domestic problems, and its conventional knowledge-centered approach should be replaced by a modern approach directed to modification of the behavior pattern. P.H. nurses occupy a strategic point for such teaching and preventive activities by way of her health guidance in her field work. 4. Immediate treatment of burn by cold application is recommended. It is effective when the cold application is started within a few seconds and continued for several minutes.
