Abstract
There are many rankings in our lives. Since people are often interested in the rankings of sports, there are various rating methods in sport events. Particularly Sumo wrestling has its original method for ranking of Sumo wrestlers. In this paper, we guess rules of the sumo rankings. We suggest a mathematical sumo ranking method and compare real rankings and our estimated rankings. Finally we will mention a possibility of handling subjectivity in the ranking method.
