Abstract
Both photoselective vaporization of the prostate with LBO laser (532 nm in wave length) and holmium laser (2140 nm in wave length) enucleation of the prostate which does represent the technical development in the treatment of BPH, have been popular as endosurgical alternatives to traditional transurethral resection of the prostate. These techniques appear to be effective with less morbidity including a reduced rate of transurethral resection syndrome and minimal peri- and post-operative bleeding, as well as having a shorter duration of catheterization and hospital stay.
