Understanding of the actual effect of laser bean on tissues is the essential aspect in the therapeutic application of lasers from the vie-point of evaluation of the therapeutic effect and the safety. Spectral analysis for the target tissue of the laser surgery is the most important experiment to assess the most effective laser wavelength and to lead to successful result in the laser therapy. Previous studies have revealed that hard tissues either bone or dental structures have the huge absorption spectrum in the narrow wave band around 9.6μm. This result fully suggested much more effective laser wave band for the laser surgery of hard tissues than the conventional CO2 laser of 10.6 μm. This study was designed for the precise research for the wavelength at the peak absorption spectrum in hard tissues around 9.6 μm.
