Abstract

In this study, the locations of auxiliary sections that can minimize the distance of workers movement from the auxiliary sections to conveyors, when the machine or equipment which is the production means for the direct production department is a conveyor, is grasped as a problem of work system in man-machine system. The layout patterns of the conveyor are classified into 1) rectangular shape, 2) L-shape, 3) U -shape and 4) O-shape. A theoretical model is introduced to minimize the expected distnace for layout. Here are discussed the algorithm and computational procedure for expected distance.
