Abstract

This paper reports on an analysis of tensile behaviour of PVC ( plasticized PVC sheet ) under biaxial finite deformation. In general, since such sheet of hi-moleculor materials are mainly used under biaxial deformation, they should be analyzed by biaxial tnsile tests. The specimen used here was made by calendering, so it shows the dynamic orthotropy. This study is an analysis on the assumption that the material is incompressible. Its deformation history mainly depends on strain rate and temperature. In this paper, the problem of isochronous plots has been analyzed by F.E.M. considering nonlinearity of the material characteristics and geometrical behaviour. As the result, numerical data on uniaxial and strip biaxial deformation were in good agreement in quality and quantity. But a disagreement, which resulted form analysis of strip biaxial with a circular hole in its center, was found around the circular hole where stress concentration occurred.
