Abstract
Reduction analysis of noise such as "booming noise" of a vehicle cabin by Helmholtz resonator is carried out by using the Finite Element Method (FEM). As the frequency response of the sound pressure at a passenger's ear position is calculated for the case without a resonator and with a resonator it is shown that the peak at the second resonance frequency of the cabin is split and quite reduced. From the fact that the noise reduction is changed by tuning the length of the throat of a resonator it is proposed that a Origami structure is appropriate for a resonator. Finally it is suggested by analysis that the large reduction is realized by attaching two resonators to the proper position of a cabin.
