Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of vibration quenching of the system with a limited power supply and electricity generation using the device composed of a Hula-Hoop and a generator. Following was made clear from the results of numerical analysis and experiment: (1) The device is very effective in the region exceeding the resonant point of the system. (2) Although electric power was supplied from the power source in order to rotate a Hula-Hoop, it is confirmed that both vibration quenching and energy saving was established by using the generator with small amount of power generation. (3) The experimental and the analytical results were in good qualitative agreement with each other. (4) The approximate solution by the averaging method has sufficient accuracy in the region exceeding the resonant point. (5) This device is considered as an improved type of an automatic balancer.
