Abstract
This research work aims at developing a new noise barrier with environmentally conscious design and high road noise insulation. In this paper, we coded the numerical analysis program using 2D boundary element method. Variform noise barriers were analyzed by this program. The results were as follows: (1) the efficiency of insulation SPL of simple barrier was relative to logarithmic heights; (2) the efficiency of curved surface was not equivalent to increase of its height; (3) by using noise barrier with Helmholtz resonator, the maximum efficiency corresponded to 6-7m higher about resonance frequency.
