In the field of instrumental acoustics, the musical sounds of air reed instruments such as flutes are interpreted as selfexcited sounds. However, the mechanism of self-excited sound of these instruments has not been fully elucidated. In a previous study, a simulation using the cellular automaton method (CA method) was conducted, but there was a problem that extremely high sound pressure, which is not possible in actual musical sounds, was output. In this study, experiments were conducted to understand the characteristics of the flute, and the assumptions were reviewed. Furthermore, the concept of vortex damping was introduced into the calculation model using the CA method, and appropriate excitation positions were verified to create a calculation model that is closer to the actual flute. Finally, to confirm the validity of the calculation model, a comparison was made with the calculation model created using the transfer matrix method.
