We have conducted basic experiments relating to the filling step in screen printing with conductive pastes utilizing for the surface electrode forming on the solar panels. Filling properties to slits of 30μm, 50μm in width formed in screens, i.e. polymer film coated mesh were examined utilizing four kinds of conductive pastes of fine silver particles with different surface treatment. Moreover, bare mesh was also tested for comparison. Filling behavior of the paste was taken with a high speed camera and typical filling time was measured from the movies. Length of the filling time was correlated to the slit width and the viscosity of the paste.
