Abstract
The authors have developed a new technology, which enables it to use lubricating oil (LO) semi-permanently with no oil change and no waste oil. The new LO system has been working well in more than 1000 units of marine and cogeneration diesel engines for many years. The field data show that engine reliability and LO consumption is much improved by using the new system. Also, the authors have developed a new fuel oil (FO) treatment system. Combination of the new LO and the FO system further improves engine reliability. As a result, electric power generation cost of cogeneration diesel engines is expected to be much decreased. In this paper, the outline of the new LO and FO system is explained and the field data obtained from the engines equipped with the new system will be presented.
