Abstract

Capillary coil for controlling the refrigerant flow is attached to pipe in air conditioning units. Excitation force is generated in the capillary coil when the refrigerant flows. We calculated the curved pipe pressure by CFD software “PHOENICS” and we also calculated the excitation force of modeled capillary coil using the results of CFD analysis. Calculation results of the excitation force were compared with the measured value by the testing system. We found that the calculation result agrees with experimental result.
