Self-excited vibration of a rotating circular cylindrical shell subjected to external annular leakage flow is considered. A cylindrical shell labyrinth seal structure is considered in this research. As an analysis technique, bidirectional sequential cross interaction analysis by FEM is performed in this paper. Mesh morphing is also realized by using the ALE method for analysis of the changing flow in the labyrinth seal. By applying these techniques, it becomes possible to perform a more accurate analysis compared to the conventional approximation technique.
