This paper describes the development of compact computer aided balancing system. As background of development of the system, field balancer is desired to be compact and portable system. On the other hand, in recent years as several rotating machinery have become higher in driving speed or more accurate, values of acceptable levels of vibration have also been severer. Therefore, we gave three purposes in development of the system. (1) The system adopts advanced theory of balancing, influence coefficient method based on LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality), because of more accurate balancing. (2) The system is compact and is suitable for field balancing to be able to carry it easily everywhere. (3) The system has user-friendly interface for field service engineers. In this research, we developed compact computer aided balancing system to assist engineers in field balancing, and revealed the usefulness of the system by experimental balancing in model rotor. Besides, we edited manual of the system.
