Enhancement of mixing with periodical side flow injection is investigated experimentally. The flow pattern in the main flow in a pipe with 10mm diameter is visualized by a blue ink marker. The marker is injected in a steady state condition. Glycerin is used as a working fluid. The volumetric flow rate of the main flow is varied from 5 to 15ml/min. A side flow is injected normal to the main flow. The results show that the blue ink marker is stretched and folded by periodical injection and spreads over a pipe. It indicates that the periodical injection plays an important role to enhance the mixing.
