The electromagnetic damper, which is composed of an electric motor and a ball screw and nut, has been proposed. The electromagnetic dampers have high responsiveness, controllability, and energy saving performance. Besides these advantages, electromagnetic dampers can be connected to each other very easily. Therefore, the authors focus on this characteristic of electromagnetic damper and propose a method to use the electromagnetic damper for the coupled suspension system. In this paper, the authors propose a method to combine the front electromagnetic damper with the rear through an electric circuit. Through vibration experiments using two motors and electric circuits, the performances of proposed system are examined. The results indicate the proposed system is effective and valid.
