There are two kinds of dynamic vibration absorber: a linear dynamic vibration absorber and an autoparametric vibration absorber. The linear dynamic vibration absorber is applied in a wide range. However, in order to obtain sufficient characteristics of absorption, it is a problem that a large mass ratio is required. The autoparametric dynamic vibration absorber is not widely used because It is said to be inferior to linear dynamic vibration absorbers in terms of characteristics of absorption in the case of mass ratio of conventional level. In this research, the response amplitude of the main system was suppressed by theoretical and experimental results using two kinds of vibration absorber having the mass ratio below the conventional level. Optimal parameters of the autoparametric vibration absorber was derived from the response amplitude. It is said that the optimal parameters are effective when main system has damping. But optimal parameters are derived when main system does’t have damping The reason for this is shown from the experiments in which the parameters of the linear dynamic vibration absorber are changed.
