Abstract
Intuitive and seamless interfacing between humans and machines is mandatory for the next generation ICT (information communication technology), where micro nano devices capable of acquiring and conveying information from and to humans and machines play crucial roles. Our group has been developing MEMS-based human interface devices, including a wearable line-of-sight detection system, tactile displays, and needle-type polymer electrodes for BMI. These devices benefit from microfabrication technologies as well as attractive materials. In this presentation, these devices will be briefly introduced and their application to ICT and, in particular, ambient intelligence will be discussed.
