An electromyography (EMG) is the electrical potential generated by muscle cells when these cells are electrically or neurologically activated. The motion can be distinguished by analyzing the generated EMG. However, the amplitude of the EMG varies depending on the muscle contractile force. This problem disturbs the conventional motion recognition method using the amplitude of the EMG In order to overcome the problem, we propose a new motion recognition system using the ratio of EMGs, and verify the practicability by experiments.
