The research study were conducted the Japanese traditional trowel blade which was made from SK5 steel. This experiment focused on the effect of heat temperature on forging process after heated to 900 Celsius degree and annealing process with the forging by hammer machine. The participants are 60 years trowel handcraft experience of an expert and 6 years of a non-expert. The heat treatment temperatures within traditional furnace have followed by the fire color on their observation. Microstructures and grain sizes structures were measured accurately by using the optical microscope (OM). The microstructures results of two processes showed all of microstructure both expert and non-expert were pearlite. The annealing grain size of non-expert specimen was bigger the expert specimen because the annealing temperature of non-expert process was not properly enough. The influence of the trowel work efficiency depended on the skill of heated controlling of worker.
