Abstract

Flow-accelerated corrosion (FAC) and liquid droplet impingement erosion (LDI) are the main pipe wall thinning phenomena in piping system of power plants. The current management is based on thinning rate and residual lifetime evaluation using pipe wall thickness measurement in Japan. For future improvement of the management, introduction of domestic prediction code is expected. We have developed the original prediction software for the pipe wall thinning “FALSET” and validated FAC prediction model in the FALSET with FAC data in domestic PWR secondary system. In this study, applicability of the FAC prediction model in the FALSET for the first measurement schedule of the current management with initial set thinning rate was evaluated.
