Urea SCR is attracting attention as a method of removing NOx emitted from the diesel engine. However, it is required to promote vaporization by atomization, because the purification efficiency of NOx is lowered by the urea-water that is not completely vaporized in the low temperature zones such as at the time of starting. Therefore, this paper focused on the surface texturing, and aimed to promote atomization by the desired additional processing of dimples on the impingement walls of the spray droplets. These impingement behaviors were visualized using a high-speed camera. In addition, the weber number and the particle size at after impingement was measured from the droplet velocity and particle diameter obtained from the visualized images. It examined the hole diameter suitable for atomization of droplets.
