To simulate paper motion and deformation during transforming in printer, mechanical property of paper is very important. Since the paper is a composite material composed of cotton fibers, deformation mechanism of paper is complicated. By compression test in thickness direction, we show that the paper is extended in machine direction, but in cross machine direction it is shrunken. The mechanical property is affected by environmental condition, such as humidity and temperature. Humidity release the bond between cotton fibers, therefore, humidity is a key environmental condition. Tensile test and compression test has been carried out in several humidity conditions, and the effect of humidity on the Young's modulus is discussed.
