Abstract
The new washing method for vertical axis washing machines, which are commonly used in Japan, is developed to economize water consumption and to improve detergency. The new-shape pulsator with shallow slopes on top surface is introduced. When the pulsator rotates, cloths vibrate vertically while sliding up along slopes of the pulsator. The new method also contains circulatory system, which pumps up little quantity of high-density detergent from the bottom of washing drum, and sprinkle it uniformly onto cloths during washing. Using new method, cloths are washed cleanly with less damage using less detergent. As a result, compare to the previous year's machine, the new method not only decreases 40% of water consumption that reaches almost equal quantity of water as the horizontal axis drum washing machine, but also increases the detergency up to 120%, which is the highest among the industry.
