The effect of the bond-coating on the thermal cycle fatigue damage was investigated in the air plasma sprayed thermal barrier coatings (APSed TBCs). In this work, two kinds of the CoNiCrA1Y powder with the different particle size were used for spraying the bond coating material. In addition, the bond coat was sprayed by either the low-pressure plasma spray (LPPS) method or the high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) one. In this work, the micro-cracking distribution, residual stress, and the residual interfacial strength were evaluated as a function of the thermal fatigue cycles.
