Abstract
In this paper, the residual stress distributions of Electron Beam Welding (EBW) for the mock-up of the core barrel in the pressurized water reactor are described. The mock-up was fabricated from type 304 stainless steel and has a thickness of 51 mm. Strain gauge method was applied to the measurement. The finite element analysis was also applied in order to validate the effectiveness of residual stress analysis for EBW. In the result, the residual stress distribution obtained by finite element analysis was in good agreement with measurement data. In this way, the effectiveness of finite element analysis for EBW is validated.
