Abstract

In this paper, we develop a super-telephoto mirror-drive pan-tilt camera system for remote wide-area video surveillance that can simultaneously track humans and objects moving at distant places in high-resolution video images; it can track an object fast-moving at a distance of 100 m or more from the camera system with a large-aperture zoom lens of f = 1600 mm, and video-record and -analyze them with mm-level accuracy. The effectiveness of our super-telephoto tracking system is demonstrated by showing several video-shooting results in tracking moving objects and humans at distances of several dozen meters from the camera system.
