The authors propose methods for aero-acoustic source localization to improve the spatial resolution and accuracy of identification in a wind tunnel test. In order to prevent the influence of free shear layer, which causes an error, a microphone array is installed adjacent to the main flow. It is apparent that the accuracy improved at a wind velocity of 300km/h. We verified the applicability of this method by an aero-acoustic source localization test for a body gap and a bogie of 1/8-scaled model in a wind tunnel test. As a result, clear source distributions around the model are obtainable. It has shown that aero-acoustic noise caused by the flow separation at the edge of body gap can be reduced by the outer bellows, and the noise generated around the wheels is shielded by the side cover at high frequency region.
