抄録
The purpose of this study was to obtained basic information on the strength of the bone to retain the porous implant, which were inserted into the defective part of mature dog's mandible intramedullary.
After sacrificing dogs periodically, new bone formation at the interface between bone and implant was investigated histo-pathologically by SEM and the contact force was calculated by push-out test.
Results:
Following the experimental study produced interesting results clinically.
At the time of 4 weeks after operation new bone had been formed and ingrowth into the pore spaces.
With the passage of time, the pore was filled with new bone. The contact force between bone and porous implant averaged 41.2kg 4 weeks,44.0kg 8 weeks,133.5kg 12 weeks and 123.9kg 16 weeks after operation.
The highest interface strength value obtained was 188kg.
