Neutron irradiation effects in molybdenum as high heat flux materials are surveyed. Microstructures including small dislocation loops, dislocations, voids and void lattices were developed depending on irradiation conditions.Neutron irradiation induced severe loss of ductility, but the degree of embrittlement depended on materials conditions.Radiation resistance of the metal may be improved by choosing proper heat treatment and fabrication method.
