Method for Fatigue Life on the Facilities of Gate and Penstock

Abstract

Petrikat's chart indicates relationship between vibration amplitude and frequency. On the other hand, fatigue designing codes show relationship between stress range and repeat count of stress. However, relationship between fatigue designing codes and Petrikat's chart has not been clarified yet.
In this paper, the evaluation method for safety on the facilities of gate and penstock is presented by applying the theory of beam-column and cylinder to relationship between stress and amplitude of vibration.
