This note examines the evaluation method of the effective length factor of an atrium long column by comparing the formula given in reference [6] with the correct value obtained by performing the buckling eigenvalue analysis given by Takada and Ono in reference [5]. As a result, it is shown that the effective length factor evaluation formula presented in this note can be used to evaluate the effective length factor with an error of about 2.5%.
