陶版壁画制作におけるサンドブラスト工法の導入 : 地場産業とのコラボレーションと地域アイデンティティ

This ceramic mural project for the new Hyper Hotel in Komatsu city.Ishikawa, aimed at emphasizing regional identity by utilizing the traditional skills of "Kutani Pottery", which is produced in this area, and the "Sandblast Method" of local industry, with specially designed geometric patterns. Furthermore, the design motifs are deeply related to the distinctive climate and landscape of Komatsu and traditional Kutani pottery patterns. The patterns were carved by sandblast method on ceramic boards and tiles and the 5 traditional colours (blue, red, yellow, green and purple) of Kutani pottery were used. Thus, this collaboration between sandblast engineers, a potterand a designer could indicate a new direction in modern art.
