Abstract
This research aimed to propose water repellent using hydrophobic fumed silica. This water repellent can apply high performance water-repellent for fabric including natural fiber, regenerated fiber and synthetic fiber. This water repellent is created with ethanol mixed. The water repellency of the water repellent quantified it by measuring a contact angle. The contact angle of the commercial water repellency agent showed approximately 120 degrees. In contrast, the contact angle of this water repellency agent showed approximately 150 degrees.
