In the Problem-Solving Design Exercise for Innovative Ideas, it is necessary to build relationships with the people involved in the field in order to design products that will last for a long time. This study aimed to build relationships through mutual understanding in a short-term project involving experts from different fields. The students and IT engineers were able to share their own ideas and the ideas of their advisors with Nishijin textile engineers and textile designers, so that both sides could find meaning in the project. Through the production of a realistic prototype, concrete communication with Nishijin textile engineers became possible, and the development of e-textiles for Nishijin textiles was realized.
