抄録

層状物質表面の第一原理計算による最近の理論研究を,主に走査トンネル顕微鏡(STM)に焦点を当てて紹介する。扱う層状物質としては,グラファイト,遷移金属ダイカルコゲナイドおよびそれらの基板上に成長した薄膜などである。層状物質は通常,2次元的な系と考えられているが,STMでは探針との波動関数の干渉や基板との相互作用などを通して3次元性が顕著に現れることがわかってきた。
