Abstract

In recent years, the traffic accident has decreased the outbreak number and the casualties. But, it doesn't decrease in community road. Therefore, traffic safety measures of community road have been required to proceed with the town development. Measures of traffic accidents and urban crimes have been pointed out in common, but are separately managed and operated. To examine the measures is highly necessary to clarify the relationship between traffic accidents and crimes. In this study, to clarify the relationship between traffic accidents and urban crime, it was subjected to extraction of area characteristics that have influence in the past number of occurrences. As a result, it was possible to extract area characteristics such as the number of public facilities and residential areas as a factor that influences in common to the incidence of traffic accidents and crimes. These results can be considered to be a basic knowledge in order to promote efficient measures towards the safe and secure town development.
