Abstract
Viscosity, electrical conductivities and refractive indexes of Tororo-aoi (TA) mucilaginous solutions have been measured immediately after extraction (fresh TA solution) and after aging (aged TA solution). The results are in harmony with the results by previous authors.
Adsorption of TA mucilage on air/water surface and on vinylon surface from the fresh and aged solutions has been studied by means of surface tension at air/water interface, and adsorption amounts, wetting energies and ζ-potentials on vinylon surface. Close correlation has been confirmed between the paper making property and the adsorption property of TA mucilage.
