Abstract

A survey was conducted to clarify the relationship between the state of cows in the physiologic non-pregnant condition and the reproductive efficiency in the following breeding season. In it, 50 cows of the Japanese Black breed kept on farms in the jurisdiction of the Hanamaki Livestock Hygiene Service Center, Prefecture of Iwate, were examined whether they met a total of 38 categories of 15 items or not.
The results of this survey were analyzed with method quantification model No.3 and classified into 5 groups of categories. In consequence, a possibility was noticed that the categories of some items might be related with the reproductive efficiency in the following breeding season. Furthermore, when the same results were analyzed with method quantification model No.2, it was very likely that the reproductive efficiency in the following breeding season might possibly be anticipated from the state of cows about 30 days after parturition.
