administration of the adrenal corticoisterod, betamethasone (S-661). A daily dose of 0.5-1.0 mg per head (or 0.4 mg per kilogram of body weight) was used.
(1) Of 103 suckling pilgets suffering from diarrhea 83 (81.3%) recovered within one or two days.
(2) Of piglets which had not responded well to treatment with sulfa drugs 80% showed good results in the administration of betamethasone.
(3) Betamethasone revealed no side effects at all.
