A total of 22 dogs, 7 apparently healthy and 15 with brain diseases, were examined for brain-type creatine kinase (CK-BB) isoenzyme in serum. CK-BB was significantly higher in cases with high-voltage slow activity (HVSA) in EEG, suggesting that the elevation of the isoenzyme might be correlative with the presence of progressive, destructive lesions in the brain.
