Abstract

In a 2-year-old spayed mixed breed dog with recent onset of urinary retention, a mass (150g, 80×80×65 mm) was detected in the caudal abdominal cavity by radiography and ultrasonography, which was excised surgically. Histopathology revealed that it was of canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) arising from the uterine stump, and metastases to the external and internal iliac lymph nodes were observed, while there was no infiltration in the vulva, vestibul and vagina.
