Abstract

Effects of diazinon 20% spot-on were examined on flea and/or tick infestation in 67 dogs and 77 cats. The numbers of infesting flea were found to be decreased in 81.0±4.9% of dogs and 69.6±5.1% of cats on day 7 of treating, while 59.7±6.2 and 65.3±5.5%, respectively, on day 28. The drug was effective in 9 of 10 dogs with tick infestation on day 7. Of a total of 67 dogs and 77 cats given drug, 1 dog and 4 cats showed salivation and/or vomiting immediately after treatment.
