In order to clarify the behavior of partial slip at contact surface, we carefully try to visualize the partial slip with the correlation method. To begin with, we confirmed the accuracy of visualization within ± 0.5 pixel under non-load situation, referring to the measured data with a micrometer. Secondly, it was discussed that the size of the matrix and the investigated region for the calculation of the correlation is essential for the correct estimation. Finally, we showed the spatial distribution of partial slip at contact surface, and the relation between area of stick region and tangential coefficient.
