This paper quantitatively discusses the limitations of connecting a large amount of renewable energy power sources to the power system. The current power supply system is basically composed of a rotary synchronous generator, and its synchronization characteristics and extremely large transient overload capability support the stability of the power system. On the other hand, since solar power generation, wind power generation, and the like are connected to an electric power system via an inverter(they are referred to as renewable energy power sources). A major feature of this renewable energy power supply is that it does not have an overload capability. This paper discusses the constraints when connecting a large amount of such renewable energy power sources to the power system from the macro stability of the power system when the load suddenly changes. As a conclusion, it was found that a large amount of renewable energy power supplies can be introduced even in large industrial areas where a large amount of induction motor load exists.
