Abstract
In this study, a method to estimate the sediment discharge from the river was established and the numerical forecasting of sediment movement of the Kashima-Nada Sea by applying the estimated value of discharge to the boundary condition. By using this method, yearly discharge was estimated at 71,900 m3/year in 2013. Numerical forecasting was conducted by using “WD-POM” which was the three dimensional numerical model of a regional sediment movement and beach erosion/deposition due to sand and mud by considering tides and wind waves. Numerical results showed the agreement qualitatively with the real coast.
