In engineering enterprises, advanced integration capabilities is demanded towards to create highly-added values such as “smart infrastructure” which is redefined as servitization applying for “smart technologies” including IoT, AI and Robotics. Construction of smart factory or smart city through these advanced integration capabilities is expected to contribute to exporting infrastructure as national policy or resolving various social problems. This article shows a part of the collaborative research activities by the Engineering Advancement Association of Japan (ENAA). The research reveals to show possibility for conceptualization and the related analytic approaches for further advanced engineering businesses through “roadmapping” and “case analysis” of a smart technologies – smart cities.
